Every product you see in our shop starts life as an idea — and ends up as a precisely crafted, 3D-printed piece made right here in Walsall, England. We're Laura and Billy, a husband-and-wife team who design, print, and pack every order ourselves. No factories, no middlemen, no mass production.

We started LB Boutique because we wanted to create home accessories that were genuinely well-designed — things that fit perfectly, look great, and last. 3D printing lets us do exactly that.

What Is 3D Printing, Exactly?

If you've never seen a 3D printer in action, it can seem almost magical. The process — known as FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) — works by melting a thin filament of material and laying it down in precise layers, building up a three-dimensional object from the bottom up.

It's a bit like a very precise, very patient hot glue gun — except instead of glue, it's engineering-grade plastic, and instead of rough joins, you get smooth, accurate, repeatable results.

From Design to Print: Our Process

Every product begins with a design brief. For our slat wall accessories, that means understanding the exact groove dimensions of acoustic panels — because a shelf that doesn't fit perfectly is no shelf at all.

Here's how a typical product goes from idea to your door:

• Design — We use CAD software to model the product in 3D, accounting for tolerances, load-bearing requirements, and aesthetics.
• Prototype — We print a test version and check the fit, finish, and function. This often takes several iterations before we're happy.
• Colour testing — We test filament colours against real slat wall panels to make sure our finishes genuinely complement the most popular panel tones.
• Production — Once we're satisfied, we set up the final print profile and begin producing stock. Each item is checked by hand before it's packaged.
• Dispatch — Orders are packed carefully and sent out promptly — we know how exciting it is to be waiting for something you've ordered.

Why 3D Printing Makes Better Products

Traditional manufacturing requires expensive tooling and large minimum order quantities. That means most mass-market products are designed around what's cheapest to make — not what's best for the customer.

3D printing flips that. We can:

• Iterate quickly when we spot an improvement
• Offer products in multiple sizes without retooling
• Produce small batches without waste
• Take on custom and bespoke orders that simply wouldn't be viable any other way

Sustainability and Materials

We use high-quality PLA and PETG filaments, chosen for their durability, finish quality, and lower environmental impact compared to many traditional plastics. PLA in particular is derived from renewable plant sources and is compostable under the right conditions.

We're also mindful of waste. Failed prints and support material are minimised through careful print preparation, and we're always looking at ways to reduce our footprint further.
